|
|
Hi there
I am a student studying in the UK.
I have a UK registered car that I use here.
I am hoping to bring it back for the summer months (june - august max)
Its registered to my address here in the UK but I have an Irish insurance policy.
Where would I stand in relation to VRT if I bring the car home for a temporary period.
Thanks |

please read : http://www.vrt.ie/vrtDetail.php?page=23
if you are a State Resident as defined in the above link you will not be allowed to do so, otherwise you will. |

Well according to that I am still defined as resident in the state.
I don't quite get this. Just because I am a student I can't bring my car home without paying vrt even though its definetly going to be leaving the country again in a few months?
There must be some allowance. |

| I think in your situation you should go to the local VRT office and see if they will clear you for driving your car here over the summer. |
