Hi
My name is Mark I am thinking of buying a 2002 Swb Transit from the north theres a 136k on it no crew cab or windows in the back just standard T260 85psi can anybody tell me for sure wat catagory does this van come under or wat rate of vrt would apply i have rang every office and read every documents online and cant make out wat I will have to pay Dont want to buy this and be stuck with big bill for vrt any help would be great

The transit you describe is Category N1: Vehicles of category N having a maximum mass not exceeding 3,5 tonnes.
According to the revenue website...

Category N1 - Vehicles that, at the time of manufacture, have less than four seats and have a technically permissible maximum laden mass weight that is greater than 130 per cent of the mass in service of the vehicle with bodywork in running order
is
Category C - Commercial Vehicles (carriage of goods) other
But on this page revenue refer to VRT of Category B (N1) Vehicles (http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/vrt/index.html) |
